Daniel and I have had a number of fun adventures together. In the summer of 1998, we spent a month on the Appalachian Trail. We hiked approximately 320 miles from the top of Mt. Katahdin in Maine, across the White Mountains in New Hampshire.

We have each completed thirteen marathons, some together, and some separately when physics-related travel brought us to new locations. Our first marathon was the Philadelphia Marathon, together in 1998. Some of the marathon highlights include running Grandma's Marathon together the weekend before our wedding, and numerous marathons in California. I have finished the Boston Marathon four times, and I also ran the Leadville Mosquito Marathon (which climbs from 10,000 to 13,000 ft altitude). Daniel ran the Big Sur Marathon along California's beautiful coast.

We've also completed a few triathlons. In the summer of 2002, we finished our first Ironman, in Lake Placid, NY. That's a triathlon with a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run to cap it off!

Finally, we've discovered ultra-running. In 2004 we progressed from the marathon to the 100k, and eventually to two 100-mile races in Minnesota and Arizona. In Arizona, we ran 100 miles in just under 19 hours, finishing at 1am under a beautiful moon in the desert.
