A beautiful & incredibly hilly 50k loopy course around the Carmel Valley area. Again, we realize that the best part about running these longer races is that the trails cover all sorts of terrain: from steep climbs through colorful alpine vegetation, to cool creek-side trails through green valleys, and even a few miles through redwood forests. The organizers were fantastic and friendly (even more welcoming than Miwok!) and we had such a good time that we signed up on the spot for their next race at Mt. Diablo 2 weeks later. One additional pleasant surprise was that I ended up 1st place finisher (out of a small number of women). So we earned a nice embroidered duffel bag for our efforts.
